Remix is the latest for smash hit

Continuing a prolific run, multi-Platinum superstar Coi Leray taps the unapologetic, and multifaceted Dominican rapper Tokischa for a new scorching remix of her chart-busting anthem and one of 2023’s hottest songs “Players” out now via Uptown Records/Republic Records. Continuing the incredible momentum, “Players” earns Coi Leray her first Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100, landing at No. 9.

This time around, “Players” undergoes a slick Latin trap transformation. Tokischa reups the original with a flurry of angular flows, alternating between Spanish and English. Coi counters before reinvigorating the hook with a Spanish twist. Bringing these two lyrical femme fatales together for the first time, this Remix has all the makings of a global banger primed to pop off all summer long.

Earlier this month, she teamed up with legendary rapper Busta Rhymes for “Players (DJ Saige Remix).” It follows the “Players (David Guetta Remix),” “Players (DJ Smallz 732 Jersey Club Remix)” and “Players (DJ Saige Remix).”

Next up, the rapper stars in an episode of the docuseries RapCaviar Presents alongside Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion. Based on the massively influential Spotify playlist of the same name, the six-part series will profile the likes of Tyler, The Creator, City Girls, Polo G, and Roddy Ricch. On March 30th it premiered on Hulu.

Continuing its dominance, this week “Players” was announced as No. 9 on the Billboard Hot 100 and is Coi’s first Top 10 record. It’s also No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Rap Songs Chart, No. 1 on the Rap Radio Chart, remains at No. 1 on the Rhythmic Radio Chart for the third consecutive week, and is No. 6 on the Billboard Radio Songs Chart. She also continues to make headlines across the culture. Over the weekend, she teamed up with David Guetta at Ultra Music Festival and debuted their new song “Baby Don’t Hurt Me” with Anne-Marie which follows her joining Sabrina Carpenter on “Nonsense (Remix).” Recently, she closed out Spotiify’s first-ever runway show. She also left Rolling Loud California in awe with a standout performance in addition to presenting SZA with the Woman of the Year Award at Billboard Women In Music. Not to mention, she teamed up with Big Boss Vette for the “Pretty Girls Walk (Remix)” and featured and co-starred in the video for “Upnow” with DD Osama.

Thus far, Leray has amassed a staggering six billion streams and counting with 300 million on “Players.” The latter inspired 2.75 million TikTok creates with 10 billion-plus views. Not to mention, she toppled the Billboard Emerging Artists Chart at No. 1, while it soared to No. 1 on TikTok and IG Reels. It spent seven weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Rap Song Sales Chart and three weeks at No. 1 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Song Sales Chart.

The original song features a sample of “The Message” by Grandmaster Flash & Furious Five. Coi Leray rips through one bold and braggadocious bar after another, exuding confidence and charisma. It pops off with the instantly unshakable hook as she proves, “‘Cause girls is players too.” Upon release, it simultaneously jumped to the top of numerous popular playlists on streaming platforms including #OnRepeat on Apple Music and Feelin Myself on Spotify. On Shazam, it dominated at No. 1 in New York City, Top 20 United States, and Top 200 Global Songs.
