Coldplay shares ‘We Pray’ Tini version

The song includes a Spanish language vers from the Argentine superstar

A new version of Coldplay’s latest single, “We Pray” is available worldwide, featuring a Spanish-language verse from the chart-topping Argentine Tini. The track – which has already topped airplay and download charts worldwide – also features acclaimed UK rapper Little Simz, Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Burna Boy, and Palestinian-Chilean R&B phenomenon Elyanna. The Elyanna Version will be available from September 20th.

Last week, all four of the song’s guests accompanied Coldplay for a surprise street performance of “We Pray” on Dublin’s Grafton Street. They then performed the song together live on the first of the band’s four sellout nights at Dublin’s Croke Park. Videos of the two performances have contributed to more than 230 million views of the song across social media.

“We Pray” is the second song to be released from the band’s upcoming new album, Moon Music, landing on October 4th via Atlantic Records.

This week, Chris Martin posted a video offering some insight into the album and its accompanying Notebook Edition, saying: “I think what this album is about is a response to struggling with all the conflict within oneself, within myself, and also all the conflict outside, and working out what the best response is. And I think what Moon Music is trying to say is maybe love is the best response.”

The album will set new standards for sustainability, with each LP made from 100% recycled plastic bottles (nine per record). It will be available on EcoCD, EcoRecord LP and digital.

The new song is the follow-up to June’s double MTV VMAs-nominated single “FeelsLikeI’mFallingInLove,” which topped iTunes charts around the world, and reached No. 1 on both the UK’s airplay chart and the Official Big Top 40.

Coldplay’s Music Of The Spheres World Tour, which began in March 2022 and has so far sold more than nine million tickets, resumes at Munich’s Olympiastadion tonight (Wed, Aug 14th). In June, the band revealed that the tour has so far produced 59% less CO2e emissions than their previous stadium tour in 2016/17, exceeding their original target of a 50% reduction. They also revealed that nine million trees have already been planted, one for each ticket sold.
