Spanish Moss will be available this summer
Cole Swindell will release his fifth studio album, Spanish Moss, on June 27th. The title track will be available Friday, March 28th. The album includes Swindellโs current Top 10 and rising emotionally personal โForever To Me,โ which he co-wrote with Greylan James and Rocky Block in honor of his engagement and wedding to his new bride Courtney last year. As the best country songs are able to do, โForever To Meโ now transcends time and different stages now also marking and honoring the news of the upcoming birth of his first child this fall, a daughter. The proud husband and soon to be first-time dad released a special remix digital only release last month of โForever To Me (Our Version)โ for his fans.
โSpanish Moss has been a work in progress for over two years now,โ said Swindell. โI knew it would be a tough task following up Stereotype and the success we had from that album, but sometimes a challenge can be motivating and exactly whatโs needed to grow. For me, the album making process has always had a common theme … best song wins. Although itโs never that simple.
He adds, โLife has changed a lot for me in the best way since the last project and I wanted to be able write and sing about those blessings while also not forgetting where I came from and the pain from the past. One of the beautiful things about music is even though you may not be currently going through something at this very moment, more than likely someone out there IS. I think this album is balanced that way and has a little bit of everything from songs like: โKill A Prayer,โ โDirty Dancing,โ โForever to Meโ to โDale Jr.,โ โCountry Boy Canโt Survive,โ and โHeads Up Heaven.โ
โThe day we wrote the song โSpanish Mossโ I could tell we had something special and different for me, and I even thought to myself then โSpanish Moss could be such a cool album titleโ considering it holds a special place in my heart and reminds me of where my Dad lived when I was growing up. From working with songwriters and producers I had never worked with to going back to the drawing board more times than I care to mention, I think having that patience and taking those chances really made this project what it was always meant to be and unlike anything Iโve ever done. I canโt wait for everyone to hear the entire album from top to bottom and I truly hope they can find a little of themselves and their own stories somewhere along the way in Spanish Moss.โ
As Swindell does with each new music release, staying true to his loyal Down Home Crew, the award-winning songwriter began revealing details on his fifth Warner Music Nashville album including the title, release date, cover and track listing to them throughout the weeks leading up to todayโs official announce.
