Clip features Black Thought and Seun Kuti

Academy Award, Grammy and Emmy award-winning artist Common releases a music video for his latest single “When We Move” featuring Black Thought and Seun Kuti.

The video first premiered yesterday (Mon, Sept 27th) via broadcast channels MTV Live, MTVU, BET Soul, BET Jams, and BET; a Times Square billboard screening in NYC; high profile visibility on BET.com; along with social support across MTV, BET Soul, BET Music, BET Jams, and BET Her platforms. The music video was directed by Emmanuel Afolabi and produced by Marie Cisco. “When We Move” is the second release from Common’s recently announced follow up album A Beautiful Revolution Pt. 2, out September 10th.

Common recently launched the first two episodes of his new Brut documentary series, Common Creates, which gives viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the making of his latest album. The series gives fans a front row seat into his album process from inception through release.

A Beautiful Revolution Pt 2 is a timely and inspiring follow up to Common’s previous album, A Beautiful Revolution Pt. 1, which was released in October 2020 through Loma Vista Recordings. Part one of the album was written in 2020 during the height of the pandemic when racial and social justice protests, a contested election and economic collapse was polarizing the country. The first half of the album was written as a call to action to uplift, heal and inspire listeners dealing with these injustices. Part two is a continuation of this call to action, but one that sees the world in a new light. The album signifies a rebirth of sorts as listeners learn to cope with and elevate from this tragedy and turmoil. They are given a chance to create a better tomorrow and a responsibility to never forget the past obstacles they have faced.
