Craig Wayne Boyd crowned champion on ‘The Voice’

The Nashville native wins season seven

Craig Wayne Boyd was crowned champion of NBC’s Emmy Award-winning musical competition series The Voice December 16th, earning the grand prize of a recording contract and being named as the Voice for season seven.

Boyd, from Nashville, TN, was a member of Team Blake, marking Blake Shelton’s fourth win on the popular singing competition.

Boyd performed the original song, “My Baby’s Got a Smile on Her Face,” which can be seen below.

Through the season’s opening 12 weeks, The Voice ranks as television’s #1 reality series in adults 18-49 and all other key demographics, with its Monday and Tuesday editions combining to average a 4.0 rating, 12 share in adults 18-49 and 13.5 million viewers overall in “most current” figures from Nielsen Media Research. The Monday edition is the #7 entertainment series on the Big 4 networks so far this season with a 4.2 average in 18-49.
