Cyndi Thomson returns with ‘Five More Minutes’

The bittersweet, nostalgia-soaked single is available now

Known for her 2001 hit โ€œWhat I Really Meant To Say,โ€ country chart-topper Cyndi Thomson returns to her roots with her bittersweet new single, โ€œFive More Minutes,โ€ available now on all digital streaming platforms. Counting milestones and memories that withstand the test of time, โ€œFive More Minutesโ€ – co-written by Steven Solomon, William Boreing, Lindsay Boreing, and Thomson herself – wrestles with a nostalgia-soaked somberness, wishing you could โ€œgo back for five more minutesโ€ to relive the moments that matter most. The official music video, filled with timeless mementos recounting the endearing memories throughout Thomsonโ€™s life, will premiere on YouTube on Monday, April 14th at noon CT.

“‘Five More Minutes’ is a deeply personal song that reflects on how quickly life passes by and how the moments we love are so often the ones we wish we could hold onto just a little longer,โ€ Thomson states of the release. โ€œFrom watching children grow up to holding tight to a love that has stood the test of time, this song captures the ache of time slipping away. With each verse, it brings you back to the small, everyday moments we take for granted, reminding us just how precious those seconds really are. Itโ€™s a raw, real reminder that life doesnโ€™t waitโ€”and neither should we.โ€

On the brink of a musical comeback, โ€œFive More Minutesโ€ is Thomsonโ€™s latest release since returning to the country music scene a year ago with a wink to her home state, โ€œThe Georgia In Me.โ€ She first soared to stardom with her debut album My World which, aside from platinum selling โ€œWhat I Really Meant To Say,โ€ produced top tunes โ€œIโ€™m Gone,โ€ โ€œI Always Liked That Best,โ€ and โ€œIf You Were Mine.โ€

Hailing from Georgia, Cyndi Thomson emerged onto the country music scene in the early 2000s, quickly securing a publishing deal with Sony ATV and a record contract with Capitol Records. She soared to stardom with her debut album, My World, and the hit single, “What I Really Meant to Say.” However, beneath the veneer of success, Cyndi struggled with intense anxiety, ultimately choosing to step away.

Over the next several years, she discovered a love for jewelry design and launched her very own collection, Haybelle Co. Now, on the brink of a musical comeback, Cyndi has recently released multiple new heartfelt tracks signifying a remarkable return to her roots and an exploration of new musical horizons. Her songs are deeper, her voice is stronger, and her storytelling is more compelling than ever.
