Dan + Shay release second original holiday track

“Christmas Isn’t Christmas” is available now

Reigning 2x CMA Award Duo of the Year and 2x GRAMMY winners Dan + Shay continue to spread Christmas cheer with the release of their second-ever original holiday track “Christmas Isn’t Christmas,” available everywhere now. It follows their previously-released holiday tune “Take Me Home For Christmas,” both produced by Smyers.

“’Christmas Isn’t Christmas’ is very special to us,” states Shay Mooney. “We wrote this song with our families in mind. We are definitely reminded around the holiday season how important it is to have those people that you love around you. Christmas really isn’t Christmas if you don’t have the people that you love around you.”

Just last week, Dan + Shay released the heartwarming and family-filled music video for “Take Me Home For Christmas,” directed by Patrick Tracy. The duo will bring the new holiday tracks to several TV stages in the upcoming months including ABC’s CMA Country Christmas and NBC’s Christmas In Rockefeller Center. They will also perform at the 2020 American Music Awards, where the duo is also up for three awards, making them the most-nominated country act this year.

Their current Top 10 and climbing single “I Should Probably Go To Bed” has surpassed 125 million global streams and reached No.1 on the Country Digital Songs Sales chart upon release, garnering the duo’s highest first-week equivalents for a duo-only release. Produced by Smyers and co-written alongside Mooney, the track’s music video took home the CMT Award for Duo Video of the Year. The song “ripe for arena sing-alongs” (Billboard) follows the massive global single “10,000 Hours” with Justin Bieber. The track received wins for Top Country Song at the Billboard Music Awards and Best Lyrics at the iHeart Radio Music Awards, also holding the title of the biggest first-week streaming total in country music history. It has earned more than 1.3 billion global streams to date, with over 500 million on Spotify alone. It was the first song by a country duo or group ever to debut in the Billboard Hot 100’s Top 5 and spent 21 consecutive weeks at No. 1 on Hot Country Songs (fourth longest run in chart history). The worldwide smash has achieved 2x platinum certification in Australia and Canada, platinum certification in the Netherlands, and gold certification in four other countries.

With more than 6.5 billion career streams, Dan + Shay have garnered more than two dozen GRAMMY, ACM, American Music, Billboard Music, CMA and CMT Award wins and nominations. The duo took home a second consecutive GRAMMY for Best Country Duo/Group Performance earlier this year (2020 – “Speechless,” 2019 – “Tequila”). Their platinum-certified self-titled album included global hit “Tequila” (5x platinum), multi-format hit “Speechless” (4x platinum), and No.1 country song “All To Myself” (2x platinum). In the seven years since they formed, Dan + Shay have accumulated 32 total RIAA certifications and achieved seven No. 1 singles at country radio.
