Event is set for January 2022
Dead & Company have sold out Playing in the Sand 2022, the band’s highly acclaimed concert vacation experience. The event – hosted January 13-16, 2022 at the spectacular AAA Four Diamond Awarded, Moon Palace Cancún – features three unforgettable nights of Dead & Company performing three unique, intimate concerts on a private stretch of white sand beach just feet from the Caribbean Sea. The band shares it’s looking at adding a second weekend of events due to fan demand.
“As many of you know by now, the demand for Playing in the Sand 2022 has been unprecedented. The event is now sold out. For that reason we are exploring options that would allow us to satisfy as much of the demand as possible. These options include potentially adding an additional weekend of Playing in the Sand 2022,” they share on social media. “We are working around the clock on this and promise you that we will do everything in our power to accommodate as many of you as possible for a safe and fun weekend of music and community in beautiful Mexico. With gratitude.”
Fans should visit the event’s website to be notified if an additional weekend of events is added.
CID Presents and Dead & Company will continue their work with longtime sustainability partner REVERB, to expand Playing in the Sand’s comprehensive greening program and make the entire event climate-positive. As part of REVERB’s forthcoming Music Climate Revolution campaign, at least 130% of emissions generated during the 2022 concerts – including guest, artist and crew travel as well as transportation and energy usage throughout the resort and venue – will be neutralized via verifiable clean energy or carbon mitigation projects. In addition to a single-use plastic-free concert area, all waste discarded throughout the resort will be sorted during the event and diverted from landfill. These efforts have resulted in more responsible and sustainable event production while directly contributing to important local reforestation projects in Mexico which fight the climate crisis.
Identified as a low carbon tourism provider, Moon Palace Cancún will provide guests with a wide range of luxury accommodations just steps from CID Presents’ state of the art concert venue. This oceanfront sanctuary offers magnificent rooms, gourmet all-inclusive food and drink, 24-hour room service as well as plenty of activities on both land and sea, including the luxurious AWE-Spa and a 27-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course. CID Presents will closely monitor relevant recommendations and guidelines imposed by local authorities and The World Health Organization to ensure a safe experience for all guests. For more information regarding Health & Safety plans, please click here. Additionally Purely Palace protocols will be in place at all times throughout the resort. Purely Palace goes beyond the already stringent quality controls and health measures in place, with the implementation of more than 250 preventive actions to assure guests health and safety, including a Purely Palace health certification in every room on arrival, guaranteeing its complete disinfection.
In addition to daytime entertainment and nightly concerts, guests will be encouraged to enrich their weekend with exploration of the natural beauty of the Yucatan Peninsula and rich Mayan culture through various off-site adventures including diving in underground cenotes, visiting the lost capital of Chichen Itza, discovering the natural beauty of Isla Mujeres, sailing on luxury catamarans, and more.
