The untitled show has a put pilot commitment at Fox
Dierks Bentley has teamed with Last Man Standing creator Jack Burditt to executive produce a Nashville-based single-camera comedy series that has been given a put pilot commitment at Fox. Variety reports that the series will be set in a Nashville bar, where singers and songwriters chase their dreams or possibly fall in love if only for a night.
Burditt created the untitled series in which he also wrote and will executive produce along side Bentley and Mary Hilliard Harrington. Twentieth Century Fox Television will produce, where Burditt has an overall deal. The company also produces the recently-revived multi-camera Last Man Standing, which debuted its seventh season on Fox last month after fan demand brought it back from the dead when ABC abruptly canceled the high rated sitcom at the end of the 2016-2017 season.
This will be Bentley’s first foray into television. Burditt’s other recent credits include Modern Family, Great News, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, and The Mindy Project. No word if the project will film or be based at Bentley’s Whiskey Row in Nashville.
Earlier this month, Bentley wrapped his highly successful Mountain High Tour to a sold out crowd at Los Angeles’ Hollywood Bowl. The tour kicked off in May and hit 30 cities with Brothers Osborne and LANCO. The tour’s final show included a two-song jam with the entire lineup and surprise guest Dwight Yoakam.
