Song is available now

Upholding her promise to record a rock album after being inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2022, Dolly Parton has released her first-ever rock single, “World on Fire.” The track is available digitally now, and will be part of Rockstar, due November 17th via her own Butterfly Records in partnership with Big Machine Label Group.

The chorus of the track reads, “Liar, liar the world’s on fire / Whatcha gonna do when it all burns down / Fire, fire burning higher / Still got time to turn it all around.”

Parton doesn’t shy away from politics or the world’s problems. A verse reads, “Don’t get me started on politics / Now how are we to live in a world like this / Greedy politicians, present and past / They wouldn’t know the truth if it bit ‘em in the ass / Now tell me what is truth / Have we all lost sight / Of common decency / Of the wrong and right / How do we heal this great.”

The global superstar will premiere the song during the 58th ACM Awards tonight (Thurs, May 11th) on Prime Video. Parton joins Garth Brooks as they host the 58th Academy of Country Music Awards streaming around the world to more than 240 countries live at 8 pm ET from The Ford Center in Frisco, TX.

On Rockstar, Parton has joined forces with some of rock music’s most legendary artists along with today’s biggest stars. The ever-evolving Parton teamed up with an all-star roster of musicians, including Steven Tyler, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and others, for the 30-song collection which includes nine original tracks and 21 iconic rock anthems.

Dolly Parton merchandise will also be available during ACM Awards Week through Sunday, May 14th at The Star in Frisco, Texas and during the awards show. Dolly! All Access will bring her brand partners together for a custom, curated shopping experience.
