Rock Legend to perform at the Ventura County Fairgrounds on September 17th
All summer, CBF Productions has worked to bring top notch entertainment to the scenic Ventura County Fairgrounds, where audiences can watch comfortably – and safely -from their parked cars. As we move into fall, the music continues!
On Thursday, September 17th, Concerts in Your Car is pleased to present Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Robby Krieger. A member of legendary rock band The Doors, he became the guitarist for the band in 1965, joining keyboard player Ray Manzarek, drummer John Densmore and vocalist Jim Morrison.
Krieger’s fingerstyle approach to the electric guitar, his broad musical tastes – he was influenced by flamenco, folk, blues and jazz – and songwriting helped establish the Doors as a wildly successful rock band in the 1960s whose popularity has lasted through the decades. He is responsible for the majority of the group’s songs, writing or co-writing many of The Doors’ songs, including the hits “Light My Fire”, “Love Me Two Times”, “Touch Me”, and “Love Her Madly”.
The performance is scheduled for 8 pm on Thursday, September 17th. The Gates open at 6:30 pm and the show will include a visual light show, multi-media entertainment and over-sized video screens to maximize viewing.
“Concerts in Your Cars has turned out to be the live entertainment hit of 2020,” says Vincenzo Giammanco, founder of CBF Productions. “Our goal was to bring exciting entertainment to the summer of 2020 and beyond, despite the pandemic. We plan on producing events offering a range of entertainment – straight into the holidays.”
The events are designed to comply with all official restrictions. The combination of an extra high, theatre-in-the-round style, four-sided stage and four oversized screens ensures that every seat is the best seat in the house. Sound is distributed to attendees via their car radios at 89.7 FM. Tickets are sold in advance and online only and are priced starting at $99 per car. Each ticket is valid for one car, and the number of passengers must not exceed the number of safety belts/seats in the vehicle
While no food is available for purchase at the event, Concerts in Your Car has partnered with downtown Ventura restaurants that feature curbside pickup. With the fairgrounds just three blocks from the Ventura downtown district where many beloved local restaurants are located, the concert provides a much-needed boost to local eateries.
