Dropkick Murphys release Mother’s Day tribute

Tribute follows recently released tenth studio album

Boston’s Dropkick Murphys have teamed up with the Boston Pops for a special Mother’s Day tribute titled “To Our Darlin’ Mothers.” This special performance is part of the Boston Pops 2021 Spring Celebration – a unique Mother’s Day concert celebrating music by and about women.

The tribute follows the band’s tenth full-length studio album Turn Up That Dial, released April 30th on the band’s own Born & Bred Records.

The band celebrated the album’s release with a free album release livestream on May 1st. In March, the group hosted another livestream concert — Dropkick Murphys St. Patrick’s Day Stream 2021…Still Locked Down — which was No. 1 on Pollstar’s Livestream chart for the week ending March 22, 2021, logging over one million views. Dropkick Murphys also held the No. 3 spot on Pollstar’s “Top 2020 Livestreams” chart for last year’s landmark Streaming Outta Fenway livestream, which drew more than 5.9 million viewers.

Guitarist and main songwriter Tim Brennan spoke about the livestream and what it was like to work on an album during the pandemic on a recent episode of The Music Universe Podcast.

Dropkick Murphys will hit the road in Europe and the UK in 2022. The Turn Up That Dial Tour 2022 will see the band hit Germany, France, Belgium, Austria, Italy, Ireland, Scotland, England, and more in January and February. The Interrupters opening all dates and tickets are available now via Ticketmaster.
