The final track of his new album is available now
Texas Country Music Association Award-winning artist Trey Calloway is thrilled to announce the release of his new album Wanted Man, available now. With nine tracks in total, the album draws on the traditional sounds of the ’90s while showcasing a modern edge, proving that Calloway has the talent to carve his own path in country music. The final track, “That Was Us,” premiered by The Music Universe, has helped him gain significant momentum, now reaching nearly 200,000 monthly listeners on Spotify.
“That Was Us” reminisces about good times with best friends celebrating life and love,” shares Calloway. “With upbeat positive vibes, the song transports listeners to past times and places enjoying their carefree good old days. I hope this nostalgic, timeless recollection of some of the best days in life is relatable to listeners for generations. I would like to thank everyone who has been following along my musical journey and hope you like the new album. This is only the beginning!”
Calloway was recently nominated for the 2024 Texas Country Music Association Christian Songwriter of the Year for “Backroad Believer,” which was produced by Grady Saxman and features backing vocals by Tae Lewis, a close friend and former contestant on The Voice.
North Carolina-grown and Nashville-based, Trey Calloway grew up singing in church and was a seasoned performer by the age of ten. Although southern and contemporary gospel were his first musical loves, Trey was instantly mesmerized by the sounds of country music after hearing Garth Brooks’ The Hits album and quickly developed a deep understanding and passion for the rocking, boot-stomping music of Brooks, Clint Black, Alan Jackson, and Travis Tritt. Trey has opened shows for Joe Diffie, Tracy Lawrence, McBride & The Ride, Pat Green, Edwin McCain, Craig Campbell, and Trent Tomlinson and has played for audiences at the Charlotte Speed Street NASCAR Festival, the House of Blues, and The Tennessee State Fair Opry Stage. Since mid-2023, Calloway has won Songwriter of the Year at the Texas Country Music Awards, had a music video featured on CMT, been picked up by Spotify editorial playlists, and streamed nearly a million times on Spotify alone.
