Final George Jones concert announced as tribute

It was confirmed on Tuesday that the final concert country legend George Jones was to perform in Nashville in November featuring an all-star lineup will continue as planned.  Just as I suspected, the show will be changed to a “Tribute to George Jones” and will take place Friday, November 22nd, 2013 at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena.

“Everyone has been asking if we will still do the show,” wife Nancy Jones says in a statement. “I have asked Garth [Brooks], Kid Rock, Travis Tritt, The Oak Ridge Boys, Montgomery Gentry, Sam Moore, Charlie Daniels, Jamey Johnson and others and they all said ‘yes, I am still going to do it’ so with all the artists still planning on coming, we are going to honor George one final time.”

At this time, not all previously announced artists have been contacted.  Jones’ publicist stated they are in the process of re-confirming all artists and that a list of all confirmed talent would be available at georgejones.com.

Tickets for the Nashville finale were previously sold out, but it’s possible more may come available through Ticketmaster.
