First annual Jimmy Buffett Day announced

The initiative will support Singing for Change

The first annual Jimmy Buffett Day will be held on August 30th. This initiative is to bring together fans globally to honor Buffett and the way he lived his life in support of others and the community – leaving the world a better place – by supporting Singing for Change and other organizations.

That day through Labor Day Weekend, all Margaritaville restaurants, resorts, hotels, communities, and cruises globally will honor his legacy with consumer activations, room packages, drink promotions, and give-back moments as part of a brand-wide Day of Service and weekend-long celebration.

Singing for Change, a non-profit organization created by Buffett in 1995, supports inclusive, grassroots organizations, large and small, that inspire personal growth, community integration, and the enhanced awareness that, collectively, people can bring about positive change.

Buffett died in September 2023 at the age of 76 following a bout with cancer. His final album, Equal Strain On All Parts, was released in November on his Mailboat Records with distribution by Sun Label Group.

His famous Last Mango II boat is for sale via SI Yachts. The 42 Rybovich Spencer Sportfishing boat was custom-built for the Florida-based singer/songwriter and then the mold was purposely destroyed, ensuring it would always be one of a kind.

Mattel has created a Jimmy Buffet action figure based on his Jurassic World cameo. The figure is donned in Buffett’s island apparel, including sunglasses and flip-flops. He stands atop a margarita-style platform, surrounded by “flying” dimorphodons that circle him as the tiki hut-style base turns.

Earlier this year, the “Cheeseburgers in Paradise” singer was honored with an officially licensed Margaritaville Bobblehead by the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum. The bobblehead features the iconic Margaritaville parrot.
