DJ, producer and eco-warrior BLOND:ISH & Bye Bye Plastics, her non-profit dedicated to removing single-use plastics from the music industry, have announced the industry’s first-ever biodegradable, PHA vinyl record. Officially dropping on April 11th, BLOND:ISH and vinyl R&D experts at Evolution Music & DeepGrooves, the greenest pressing plant in activity, will introduce the vinyl that delivers the future, without compromising a single bit on sound quality.
Made using naturally occurring bacteria to build a plastic replication, the 14-track vinyl, entitled #PlasticFreeParty, released on her label Abracadabra, is entirely bio based, and will naturally break down in any environment, including the ocean. While this vinyl will be compostable, as a part of this drop, fans can also own a piece of this monumental moment in music history through a collectible NFT on sound.xyz of BLOND:ISH’s “Life is…,” the opening track of #PlasticFreeParty.
PHAs are a new type of bioplastic family made by catering bacteria building blocks and giving them a mission to produce a plastic replication. Because Nature recognizes nature, when placed in a bacterial environment these microbes will be effortlessly digested by nature.

All profits will support our work to make the music industry plastic-free. All 14 artists from this album have squeezed the best of their creative juice and gave birth to passionate and motivating tracks feeding the movement.
The drop will be a 72 hours open edition at 0.04ETH on sound.xyz, pre-sale is available now, and this latest NFT and official vinyl drop will hit on April 11th. Each NFT sold will be redeemable for a physical copy of the bio vinyl.
