Duo will pay $117k while the restaurant is closed

Florida Georgia Line is following in the line of Dierks Bentley and giving $1,000 to their FGL House employees after forced to close temporarily due to COVID-19. Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley shared the news in a video announcement on social media on Wednesday (March 18th).

“FGL House would be nothing without our amazing staff,” they share on social media. “We know it takes a village, and we’re so thankful for all 117 of you and we hope this helps out while the bar and restaurant is closed. We’ve been blessed by y’all and we are excited to follow Dierks Bentley lead here and #giveback. With much love and gratitude.”

Earlier this week, Bentley announced he’s giving $90k to employees of his Whiskey Row bar and restaurant in Nashville after it shut down temporarily due to the coronavirus. Bentley shared that he will be immediately giving all 90 of his hourly employees $1k each to help them following Nashville Mayor John Cooper’s order to close all bars throughout Davidson County, and encouraged other hospitality companies to do what they can.

“Riot Hospitality Group and I encourage all bar owners on Lower Broadway to take care of their bartenders, bar backs, waitresses, security, dishwashers, etc., the best they can,” he states. “Lower Broadway is the heartbeat of Nashville. Let’s make sure we help the folks that help make the music happen.”

Every major concert, festival and event have either been postponed or canceled due to the pandemic the World Health Organization (WHO) declared last week. More than 200k cases have been reported in 110 countries with nearly 9k deaths. More than 84k people have contracted and survived the virus that was discovered last year, forcing much of the world to shut down or reduce hours.

Last week, U.S. President Donald Trump declared a 30 day travel ban to European countries, where the coronavirus has shut down Italy and France. He shares, “I am confident by counting and continuing to take these measures we will significantly reduce the threat to our citizens and we will ultimately and expeditiously defeat this virus,” per Fox News. The virus is spreading at a rapid pace, forcing schools and businesses to close throughout the nation.
