“I Love My Country” lands at top of Country Airplay chart
Global superstars Florida Georgia Line is cranking “I Love My Country” up loud, as the “country-rock jam tailor made for summertime” (The Tennessean) reigns the Country Aircheck/Mediabase Country Airplay chart this week. The hit scores the pair their 17th career chart-topper and has racked up 118.2 million total global streams since its late March release.
“This one’s loud — it punches through the speaker,” FGL’s Brian Kelley shared with Esquire – who dubbed the smash single “a thunderous ode to down-home living.”
FGL’s Tyler Hubbard agreed, “And it’s just made us feel so good and gave us so much joy. Considering the time that we’re living in right now, with everyone quarantined and maybe living in a little bit of fear, it felt like a song that could bring a little light to people.”
Kelley and Hubbard co-produced “I Love My Country” alongside Corey Crowder, who penned the track with Kane Brown, Chase McGill, Ernest Keith Smith, Ryan Vojtesak (pka Charlie Handsome), and Will Weatherly. The lead single off FGL’s 6-Pack EP via BMLG Records offers a country-to-the-core taste of their much-anticipated fifth studio album.
As brand new radio hosts of Apple Music Country, the duo is amping up the tunes and vibes every other Friday on FGL House Party Radio with Florida Georgia Line at 7 pm ET. Fans can tune in this Friday, September 4th for their next episode.
Next month, FGL is vying for Duo of the Year at the 55th ACM Awards.
