Foo Fighters announce 2025 Japanese tour dates

The band adds three more dates to its 2025 run

Foo Fighters have added three more tour dates to its 2025 schedule. The band will perform this fall four shows internationally this fall with new stops added for Jakarta, Indonesia and Tokyo and Osaka, Japan in October. These dates are in addition to their headlining performance after F1 Qualifying during the Singapore Grand Prix on Saturday, October 4th.

Josh Freese, who joined the band in May 2023 following the death of longtime drummer Taylor Hawkins, recently announced he has been let go from the band. He stated that the band wanted “to go in a different direction with their drummer” and no specific reason was given. Freese has since shared a humorous “Top 10 possible reasons” list for his dismissal. Speculation has arisen that Taylor Hawkins’ son, Oliver Shane Hawkins, might take on the role, as he has performed with the band several times since his father’s passing. The band has yet to reveal its new drummer.

Foo Fighters have been inactive since its last show in August 2024. Shortly after, frontman and founder Dave Grohl revealed that he had fathered a child outside of his marriage to Jordyn Blum, his wife of more than 20 years. He said he’s “doing everything I can” to regain his family’s trust and “earn their forgiveness” while he plans to be a “loving and supportive parent” to his baby daughter.

The Foo Fighters’ most recent album is But Here We Are, released on June 2, 2023. This album is particularly significant as it’s their first studio album since the passing of Taylor Hawkins in March 2022. Dave Grohl performed all of the drum tracks on the album. The album has received critical acclaim, with many praising its emotional honesty and raw sound, which addresses Grohl’s grief over the loss of both Hawkins and his mother.
