“See You in the Afterlife/Feed Me” stars Mark Foster and Julie Garner
RIAA Multi-Platinum and Diamond-certified group Foster The People have announced the premiere of the official music video, โSee You In The Afterlife/Feed Me.โ Directed by Weird Life Filmsโ Laura Gordon, Jackson James & Ryan Ohm and co-starring Foster The People lead singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Mark Foster alongside his triple Emmy-winning wife, Julia Garner (Ozark, The Fantastic Four: First Steps) as themselves, the hauntingly powerful double-feature visual is streaming now.
โThese videos are transmissions from somewhere between a fever dream and a digital afterlife,โ says Mark Foster. โIf โSee You In The Afterlifeโ is a satirical take on what life feels like now, โFeed Meโ is the hell that follows. It was interesting to tie these two songs together in a short to explore the two sides of consumption โ the dopamine rush of intake, and the void that follows.
โFilming โFeed Meโ with Julia felt like stepping into a lucid hallucination โ a secret world stitched together by static and memory. One where fear and desire intersect and the result is something beautiful and deeply unsettling. The line between the digital and the divine is thinner, and stranger, than we think.โ
โSee You In The Afterlifeโ and โFeed Meโ are both among the many highlights found on Foster The Peopleโs acclaimed new album, Paradise State of Mind, available now via Atlantic Records. Produced by Foster and bandmate Isom Innis with contributions from Paul Epworth, Jack Peรฑate, Chrome Sparks, and Asa Taccone at studios in London and Los Angeles (including East West Studiosโ famed Studio Three, the room where The Beach Boys recorded Pet Sounds), the album further includes such acclaimed tracks as โChasing Low Vibrations,โ โTake Me Backโ and the cosmically catchy first single, โLost In Space.โ
Foster The People โ who recently wrapped the hugely successful North American leg of their ongoing Paradise State of Mind Tour โ will continue to celebrate Paradise State of Mind with a number of upcoming US festival appearances, including highly anticipated sets at Wonderfront Music & Arts Festival, Bonnaroo, and Lollapalooza.
Last week also saw Foster The People unveil the eagerly awaited European leg of their Paradise State of Mind Tour, beginning June 25 at Zagreb, Croatiaโs INmusic Festival and then traveling through mid-July.
