G-Eazy announces special side project

Everything’s Strange Here branches into new sounds and genres

Multi-platinum selling superstar G-Eazy took to socials on his birthday this weekend to announce a special side project, Everything’s Strange Here, out June 5th. Switching gears, the project which was created entirely in quarantine, finds the acclaimed rapper branching out into new genres and sounds with a mix of new originals and covers of his favorite artists.

“Eight weeks ago I didn’t know I needed to make this,” the rapper shared on social media over the weekend. “The world has been turned upside down and inside out- but a lot of us have had the fortunate opportunity to self-reflect, grow, and evolve. This project is a representation of where my heart and head have been at. It’s honest and pure- it’s me. Take it or leave it- this is how I feel.”

The announcement comes after the release of original song “Free Porn, Cheap Drugs” from the forthcoming project which UPROXX describes as a “hazy alt-rock vibe.”

Since March, he’s taken this unique situation as an opportunity to work on Everything’s Strange Here simultaneously to his highly anticipated upcoming album These Things Happen Too. A personal exploration, the new side project showcases G’s range and musical sensibilities in a commentary on this moment in history.
