Billboard and Telemundo have announced that the beautiful and talented actress and TV host Gaby Espino will host the 2015 Billboard Latin Music Awards alongside renowned Mexican singer and actor Pedro Fernández.
The longest-running and most prestigious awards show in the Latin music world will be produced and broadcast live by Telemundo on Thursday, April 30th at 7 pm/6 CT from BankUnited Center at the University of Miami in Florida. Gaby Espino is without a doubt one of the best-known stars of telenovelas around the world, and most influential in social media. After her participation in Telemundo’s “Santa Diabla,” she returned as host of the network’s music competition “Buscando Mi Ritmo” In 2014. Born in Venezuela, Gaby has starred in a number of successful Telemundo original productions, including “Más Sabe el Diablo,” and “Sin Vergüenza,” among others. She also hosted the popular “Premios Tu Mundo” awards every year since its inception in 2012. As one of the most renowned personalities in Spanish-language television, she has been featured in numerous magazines, including People en Español’s “25 Most Powerful Women” and “Most Beautiful” issues, and Siempre Mujer’s “Mujeres que Inspiran” issue.
The Billboard Latin Music Awards will feature performances by multi-faceted urban music star Wisin; mega-star Daddy Yankee; urban music breakout act J Balvin; international star Carlos Vives; Regional Mexican chart topper Julion Alvarez y Su Norteño Banda; Mexican songstress Ana Gabriel, beloved singer and actress Lucero; and special honorees Roberto Carlos and Carlos Santana.
Topping the list of this year’s finalists are Romeo Santos (21 entries), Enrique Iglesias (19), J Balvin (12), Marc Anthony (7), Drake (7), Descemer Bueno (6), Gente de Zona (6), Julion Alvarez y Su Norteño Banda (6), Farruko (6) and Banda Sinaloense MS de Sergio Lizarraga (6).
The Billboard Latin Music Awards honor the most popular albums, songs, and performers in Latin music, as determined by the actual sales, radio airplay, streaming and social data that informs Billboard’s weekly charts. The event is the culmination of the Billboard Latin Music Conference, now in its 26th year and under the slogan “The Top Artists, The Top Trends, The Top Names in Music.” The conference is the biggest and longest-running event dedicated to Latin music in the world. It takes place on April 27-30 at The Ritz-Carlton in Miami Beach, Florida, and is the “must-attend” event for top power players in the industry, from label presidents to A talent, to top agents, managers, promoters, marketing and advertising executives and radio executives, as well as for those taking their first steps in the business.
