Garth Brooks adds more Vegas shows, plans DVD release

Garth Brooks and Steve Wynn have announced that they are planning to film upcoming Memorial Day and Fourth of July weekend concerts to memorialize Brooks’ time at the Encore Theater in Las Vegas and release the special on DVD as well as be shown on TV. This announcement comes after Brooks’ ended his three year engagement at the Encore Theater at the Wynn Hotel in November 2012. Fans and the industry are hoping this is the beginning of Brooks’ impending announcement that the country superstar will come out of retirement by the end of 2013.

“Any day in that Garth is in the – Wynn is a acceptable day for the – hotel & a amazing night for the – audience,” Wynn says of Brooks’ return to the Encore Theater.

On Memorial Day weekend there will be two shows on Friday, May 24th and two shows on Saturday, May 25th at 7:30 pm and 10:30 pm. Tickets will go on sale this Monday, May 6th at 10 am PST for $125 plus a $7.50 service charge and a $13.25 tax to equal a total of $145.75. Tickets will be available at or by calling 702.770.1000 or or 1-800-745-3000.

On July 4th weekend, there will be one show on Friday, July 5th and one show on Saturday, July 6th at 8 pm. Tickets for the July 4th weekend will not go on sale until June 3rd.

No word on when the DVD is expected to be released, but I suspect late summer/early fall.
