Garth Brooks announces Kansas City stadium tour date

Brooks will perform his first-ever concert at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium

The Garth Brooks Stadium Tour is coming to Kansas City on Saturday, August 7th at 7 pm at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium. This will be Brooks’ first-ever concert at the stadium.

“Garth Brooks is without question one of the world’s greatest performers, and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome him to the GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium stage for the first time this summer,” Chiefs President Mark Donovan shares in a statement. “We know how much Kansas City loves Garth and we are looking forward to re-opening the stadium to full capacity with an incredible show.”

Tickets will be on sale Friday, June 11th at 10 am am CDT. There will be an eight ticket limit per purchase. There are only three ways to purchase tickets: at ticketmaster.com/garthbrooks or on the Garth Brooks line at Ticketmaster, 1-877-654-2784 or through the Ticketmaster App on your phone. Please note there will be no ticket sales at the venue box office or Ticketmaster outlets on Friday, June 11th.

Tickets will cost $94.95, all inclusive. It will be in-the-round seating.

This is the fourth new show announced since the pandemic. Last month, Brooks broke the Ticketmaster record for the fastest stadium sell out in US history after selling more than 50k tickets to his Salt Lake City show in under 30 minutes. Another four thousand tickets sold out after construction was completed on Rice-Eccles Stadium. Two weeks ago, Brooks sold over 70k tickets in 47 minutes for his August 14th performance at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln, NE. The concert sold all 83k tickets within an hour and a half.

Brooks is set to resume The Garth Brooks Stadium Tour on July 10th with a sold out show in Las Vegas, marking the first live event at Allegiant Stadium, and first show back since being sidelined by COVID. It was one of three announced concerts that had to be postponed from 2020.

Brooks’ other two announced 2020 stadium dates have been postponed multiple times due to social distancing restrictions. The Cincinnati date — originally scheduled for Paul Brown Stadium for May 16th, but rescheduled for June 27th, and then for May 1st — will now happen on September 18th with Charlotte — originally scheduled for Bank of America Stadium on May 2nd, and then rescheduled for June 13th, then bumped again to October 10th and then to April 10th — will now happen on September 25th. All tickets for each original date will be honored for the respective new ones.

Brooks will also headline opening night of Cheyenne Frontier Days with special guest Ned LeDoux on Friday, July 23rd with a sold out show. Tickets went on sale on April 15th and sold out within an hour. Many fans were put in the queue but were unable to secure tickets.

The Garth Brooks Stadium Tour was set to hit 10-12 cities per year for an initial three year run with most of the venues being college stadiums. Brooks has confirmed stadium tour dates are scheduled through summer of 2022, with several unannounced dates having been rescheduled due to the pandemic.

Since The Garth Brooks Stadium Tour launch in March 2019, Brooks has broken stadium attendance records in St. Louis, MO at The Dome at America’s Center, Glendale, AZ at State Farm Stadium, Gainesville, FL at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, two sold out nights at Minneapolis, MN’s U.S. Bank Stadium, Denver, CO at Mile High Stadium, Eugene, OR at Autzen Stadium and two sold out nights at Boise, ID’s Albertsons Stadium shows, both of which sold out in under an hour. Brooks also broke records at Regina, SK’s Mosaic Stadium show on August 10th that sold out in under a hour, averaging just over 75,000 tickets in each city. Brooks added a second date in Regina, SK on August 9th due to demand. He hosted record-breaking numbers in Boise, ID with 86,000 in attendance for two back to back shows, with special guest Blake Shelton tagging along for the first night to perform their new single “Dive Bar” which was recorded and filmed.

In November 2019, Brooks set the concert ticket sales record at Neyland Stadium in Knoxville, TN. Brooks broke the internet, literally, when the initial round of tickets went on sale in September, freezing Ticketmaster’s systems. Moving at over one thousand tickets a minute, the Garth Brooks Stadium Tour ticket on sale for Knoxville, TN came to a halt when the system could not open tickets fast enough to keep up with the demand. Over 80,000 tickets were sold after production hold seats were released and sold out in minutes.

The Garth Brooks Stadium Tour averaged just over 83,000 tickets in each city and over a million tickets sold to date.
