Garth Brooks ‘Anthology’ project up for pre-order

Garth Brooks: The Anthology is set for release November 14th

Garth Brooks has at least one major project coming this year, his Anthology. Amazon has listed Garth Brooks: The Anthology for pre-order under books for release on November 14th. As of this writing, Amazon’s price is the list price of $39.95 with a “Pre-Order Price Guarantee,” but that price is likely to drop closer to release date. Many fans must have seen the listing as it’s become the #1 New Release in country books. Other than a weight of 1.7 lbs, no other details have been released about the project as of press time. An ISBN search returns the same results.

During his Facebook Live series, Inside Studio G, Brooks has mentioned that the Anthology would cover the first five albums where fans could hear the songs in their infancy as demos. He also mentioned working on a book. Our guess is he’s combining both projects, but we’ll let you know as soon as it’s announced.

Brooks first mentioned the Anthology earlier this year when he did a keynote from SXSW in Austin, TX. During the press conference, Brooks addressed new ideas with his Amazon Music partnership — which includes streaming albums for the first time ever — that could include demo versions of his older catalog in different packages. He says the amount of content could match last year’s The Ultimate Collection box set through Target.

“We do not leave a song behind, we just don’t,” Brooks tells reporters in March. “One of the things we’re talking about with [Amazon], is you have to understand, we also have the guitar demo to every one of those singles, either by the songwriter or by myself and you hear how the lyrics change. You get to see ‘Papa Loved Mama’ going from a song about a train to a song about a truck. It’s pretty cool, all of these different shifts.”

Brooks has also mentioned that a new live album is coming this fall. During Country Radio Seminar (CSR) in February, Brooks joked the project would be called Triple Live and would be released after the North American leg of the tour wraps this fall. No other details have been unveiled for Triple Live as of press time, either.

The Garth Brooks World Tour with Trisha Yearwood wraps a three year North American run sometime in December with a slate of Nashville shows. However, dates have only been scheduled through October as of this writing. Brooks confirmed during this week’s Inside Studio G that the tour is nearing six million tickets when it comes through Sioux Falls this weekend and next. The tour launched in September 2014 with an 11 run opening in Chicago.
