Garth Brooks details ‘Gunslinger’ for Nov 25th

CMA “Entertainer of the Year” nominee Garth Brooks continues to heighten anticipation and set the pace for the release of his upcoming 11th studio album, revealing to fans the cover art and title: Gunslinger, during his weekly “Inside Studio G” Facebook series. Drawing inspiration from quarterbacks who make fast and fearless moves, the album title first appeared during this weekend’s SEC Game of the Week on CBS, where his song “Pure Adrenaline” serves as the amped up theme. The unyielding confidence of Gunslinger parallels Brooks’ live show, filled with risk, energy, heart and unpredicted outcomes. The album will be released on November 25th on Pearl Records, Inc.

The first single taken from the album, “Baby, Let’s Lay Down And Dance,” debuted October 17th at No. 19 on the Billboard Country Songs chart and is the most added song at country radio this week. Critics have leapt to spotlight the “surprisingly sexy” track with Rolling Stone praising that “the upbeat country tune with Southern rock-inspired guitar riffs has a timeless sound.”

“The album title came to me when somebody asked me what my favorite thing about being on the road was,” said Brooks. “I said ‘It just feels good to be out there being a gunslinger again. Just aiming with the heart and shooting from the hip, that’s what you do on the stage, right? And, lucky enough, you’ve got the ammo of ‘Friends In Low Places,’ ‘Callin’ Baton Rouge,’ ‘Shameless’ and you do. You’re a gunslinger out there. And each show’s different and you just shoot from the hip all night long.’ As soon I said it, I knew that was the album title right there.”

Last week on “Inside Studio G,” Brooks and wife Trisha Yearwood shared that their first-ever collaborative album Christmas Together will be available to fans beginning November 11th. The new collection will feature duets, solo performances and special guests. Additionally on November 11th, Brooks will release a ten disc box set Garth Brooks: The Ultimate Collection through Target, which will include Gunslinger featuring Target exclusive bonus tracks.

This follows a stacked year for Brooks in which he also launched SiriusXM’s “The Garth Channel.” Curated personally by Brooks, the exclusive channel is also significant as it is the first time Brooks’ music has been made available 24/7 in one place, on radio or online and was celebrated at an intimate invitation-only show at The Ryman in Nashville TN at which the audience “echoed his lyrics, pumped their fists in the air and grown men wiped away tears.” (The Tennessean)
