Garth Brooks entertains over 350k with drive-in concert

One night only unique event was held June 27th at drive-ins across North America

Garth Brooks managed to accomplish the impossible as he entertained over 350,000 fans with a one night only live concert at drive-in theaters across North America. Fans were able to enjoy this special event, with friends and family, from the safety of their own vehicle.

It was the first time anything like this had ever been done with the concert was created exclusively for this event and showing on 300 screens throughout the U.S. and Canada. The two hour performance was recorded with full band in mid-June and featured a hits packed set list from the opening “Ain’t Gon’ Down (Til The Sun Comes Up)” through “Friends In Low Places” and “The Dance.”

“This time, I was the fan and the people were the entertainment. Watching people all night from coast to coast, in Canada and here in the U.S., laughing, dancing, and singing, made me smile,” Brooks shares. “It reminded me how much I miss the crazy, happy, and unpredictable life we lead as entertainers. For one night, things seemed…right.”

The event was produced by Encore Live, a full-service event production, talent buying and experiential marketing agency.

The show adhered to guidelines recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as well as all state and local health mandates.

Following the showings in the Eastern, Central and Pacific time zones, Brooks went live on Facebook for the “Housekeeping” portion of the show. He was joined alongside wife Trisha Yearwood at a campfire known as The Point on their Middle Tennessee property where he performed with his acoustic guitar like he does to close each concert.

The news follows the rescheduling of two Brooks concerts this year: Charlotte stadium, now set for October 10, 2020, and Cincinnati, OH — for the second time — due to COVID-19. The concert was originally scheduled for May 16th, but rescheduled for June 27th due to COVID-19. The new date will be announced once it’s officially confirmed.

The August 22nd Las Vegas stadium date as the first major concert at Allegiant Stadium has yet to be decided, although Brooks said on Inside Studio G that “We haven’t been told no” as of press time.
