Garth Brooks freezes Ticketmaster system during Knoxville on sale

New on sale date for Neyland Stadium in Knoxville

Garth Brooks didn’t melt the internet, this time he froze it. The Big Orange may have showed up too big. Moving at over 1,000 tickets a minute, the Garth Brooks Stadium Tour ticket on sale for Knoxville, TN came to a halt when the system could not open tickets fast enough to keep up with the demand.

“This is all my fault, on this one,” Brooks tells media outlets. “Neyland Stadium is so big, the system needs more time to move tickets on this scale.”

Brooks was quick to point out Ticketmaster and its people were “flawless.” Just barely thirty minutes into the on sale and with 20,000 people still in line, the system simply did not show any more tickets were for sale. The on sale was halted to be fair to everyone in line. The new date to finish the on sale is Thursday, September 19th at 10 am ET.

There will be an eight ticket limit per purchase. The only way to purchase tickets are via ticketmaster.com/garthbrooks or on the Garth Brooks Ticketmaster line at 1-877-654-2784 or through the Ticketmaster app on your phone. Please note there will be no ticket sales at the venue box office or Ticketmaster outlets on September 19th.

The concert will be Saturday, November 16th at 7 pm in Neyland Stadium. It’s the first concert at Neyland Stadium in 16 years. It’s the final date of the tour in 2019. Neyland Stadium is estimated to hold more than 102 thousand patrons.

It will be in-the-round staging. Tickets are $94.95, all inclusive, and Brooks ensures that anyone who was able to purchase tickets during the original on sale will maintain valid tickets.

Since the tour launch, Brooks has broken stadium attendance records in St. Louis, MO at The Dome at America’s Center, Glendale, AZ at State Farm Stadium, Gainesville, FL at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, two sold out nights at Minneapolis, MN’s U.S. Bank Stadium, Denver, CO at Mile High Stadium, Eugene, OR at Autzen Stadium and two sold out nights at Boise, ID’s Albertsons Stadium shows, both of which sold out in under an hour. The next stop will be Regina, SK’s Mosaic Stadium show on August 10th that also sold out in under a hour, averaging just over 75,000 tickets in each city. Brooks recently added a second date in Regina, SK on August 9th due to demand. Brooks hosted record-breaking numbers at the latest stop in Boise, ID with 86,000 in attendance for two back to back shows, with special guest Blake Shelton tagging along for the first night to perform their new single “Dive Bar.”

The single has inspired the Dive Bar Tour where Brooks is playing at smaller venues in between stadium tour stops. He has teamed up with Seagram’s 7 to perform at seven dive bars across the States, including Joe’s on Weed St in Chicago in July and Buck Owens Crystal Palace in Bakersfield last month. The third stop is slated for Monday, September 23rd at Gruene Hall in New Braunfels, TX with admission only available through country radio for these special dates.

Brooks has joined Seagram’s 7 to declare this the summer of Dive Bars with the pair pledging to #JoinThePact to help make our roads safer for everyone by never driving impaired. Together, Brooks and Seagram’s 7 have committed to securing 700,000 pledges this summer from dive bar patrons across the country at jointhepact.com.

Brooks is nominated for two awards at The 53rd Annual CMA Awards slated for Wednesday, November 13th at 8 pm ET/PT on the ABC Television Network. Brooks is up for Entertainer of the Year — which would be his seventh feat in the category if he wins — and Musical Event of the Year for “Dive Bar” with Shelton.

Points of Light, a global nonprofit dedicated to accelerating people-powered change, has named Brooks the recipient of The Inaugural George H.W. Bush Points of Light Award for Caring and Compassion – created to honor outstanding individuals who advance solutions to the world’s toughest challenges and exemplify the extraordinary traits of its late founder and the 41st president of the United States, George H.W. Bush. Brooks will be recognized for his caring and compassion at The George H.W. Bush Points of Light Awards Gala on Thursday, September 26th at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum in New York City.
