Bakersfield is the second of seven stops
Garth Brooks has announced that the second stop on his Dive Bar Tour is none other than Bakersfield, CA. Brooks made the announcement as part of his Facebook Live series, Inside Studio G on July 29th.
No date has been given, but Brooks confirmed he will be appearing at the legendary Buck Owens Crystal Palace sometime in the near future. The venue is where he proposed to Trisha Yearwood in 2005. KUZZ-FM in Bakersfield will announce the date and confirm all details at 7:07 am PT Tuesday (July 30th) morning.
Tickets for the Dive Bar Tour will only be available via country radio.
Seagrams 7 is partnering with Brooks on the tour by picking the cities and bars, but is not a sponsor of the Dive Bar Tour. Brooks will be bringing a scaled down version of his band without any backup singers.
Bakersfield is the second stop of seven on his Dive Bar Tour with the other cities to be announced at a later date.
The tour is in support of “Dive Bar,” Brooks’ latest single that features Blake Shelton. Shelton has not been announced to perform at any of the Dive Bar Tour dates. “Dive Bar” was currently available only via country radio until Amazon Prime Day, when it became available on July 15th at Amazon Music. A video is also planned for release this summer.
The song has the highest debut in seven years landing at No. 23 on Mediabase, and the second highest debut on Billboard of 2019 at No. 16. “Dive Bar” is taken from Brooks’ forthcoming studio album Fun, and is his first musical collaboration with Shelton, whose current hit, “God’s Country,” landed at No. 1 earlier this month.
