Brooks shares limited details during Inside Studio G

Garth Brooks fans may be in for some big news next week if the country superstar’s plans solidify on time. On his weekly Inside Studio G Facebook Live series on Monday (July 20th), Brooks teased some big news that could come on Wednesday, July 29th.

“We have this idea, I don’t know if we can get it done or not, so don’t hold me to it, but we’ll know by next Inside Studio G which will be Monday [July 27th]. Save me a date next week, maybe like Wednesday or something, save it for the middle of the day for me, because what we might do is take you into — We’ve taken you into the studio, we’ve taken you into mixing and mastering, all this stuff, but where you have never gone yet, is press conference, so we might call our first conference here soon to make a pretty good size announcement for us as an artist. And just want to kind of invite everybody in,” he shares.

He continues, “So if it happens, one thing. If it happens and we can figure out how to get everybody in, another thing. Press has always been, you know, very sweet to me when you sit and talk to ’em, they’re dolls to me. So I enjoy getting to do these things and would like to bring you along so you can see just how raw they are. These people just ask questions, and bam, you’re on the spot. So they’re pretty fun and pretty loving. With this announcement that’s coming up, if we make it, I gotta say it will be great to have you there.”

In an episode that was full of tease, Brooks also answered a fan question about the release of his long-awaited Fun album that has seen seven songs released since 2018.

“Fun is coming. Fun is done, just waiting for the right time. Waiting for the right time for us to kinda get to enjoy it and have fun with it,” he states.

He says fans may also get a cool companion to the album, although he wouldn’t hint at what it could be. “Also, something else might be coming with Fun that’s pretty cool that will wrap up several years of Inside Studio G, kinda on it, so it’s all coming this fall. Fun is coming, but it might also be sitting side by side with something that’s pretty cool that we will air old Inside Studio G‘s to show you how we came up with it, as well, so pretty cool.”

Brooks also shared he’s working on Part II of his five-part Anthology series that would likely cover his career from 1995-2000. Part I covered the first five years of his career with Part III covering the live years. No further details or release date were revealed.

The country star also revealed he’d consider a return to Las Vegas for a solo acoustic show following his three year Stadium Tour that’s currently on hold due to COVID-19. Brooks performed a One Man Show from the Encore Theatre at Wynn in Las Vegas from 2010-2013 where he shared his musical journey that led him to become the No. 1 selling solo artist in U.S. history.

Brooks says he has considered performing solo shows in between stadium dates, but would wants to enjoy the stadium rum he, his crew and band have “worked their asses off to get to deserve a chance to play the stadiums.” He says due to COVID, stadium dates will be closer together when the tour resumes.

Last month, Brooks rescheduled his Cincinnati stadium date for a second time to May 1, 2021 at Paul Brown Stadium. The concert was originally scheduled for May 16th, but rescheduled for June 27th due to COVID-19. All tickets will be honored.

The news follows the postponement of Brooks’ Charlotte stadium date, now set for October 10, 2020. No word on the fate of the Las Vegas stadium date, that is set for August 22nd as the first major concert at Allegiant Stadium. All three shows are sold out.
