The book will be available in May 2025
Rush co-founding bassist, keyboardist, and vocalist Geddy Lee is prepping to release a new book via Harper Collins on May 13, 2025. 72 Stories will be centered around his extensive baseball memorabilia collection.
“It’s a collection of stories from some of my favorite items in my collection. Maybe I’ll release it on opening day next year, I don’t know. I’m going to include a copy of the book to the winning bidders of those particular items in my sale that are also featured in this book. I’ll give them a signed copy. [The book] came together in a relatively painless way. I wrote it with my co-writer, Daniel Richler. Richard Sibbald, who shot the Big Beautiful Book of Bass, took the photographs. They’re absolutely stunning,” he says in an interview with the Illinois Entertainer.
“He was bugging me forever to shoot some of the baseballs. So, there is a book, and I’m really pleased with it. I’m trying to get it printed now, in time for the auction. It’s called 72 Stories from the Collection of Geddy Lee,” he adds.
An Amazon listing says the book is 160 pages, and will be available in hardback and digitally on Kindle. The cover art is forthcoming.
Last year, Lee auctioned some of his baseball collection with Christie’s. Lee has spent over 40 years collecting hundreds of autographed and historic milestone baseballs, amassing a collection that spans three centuries of American and MLB history.
72 Stories is the follow-up to his long-awaited memoir, My Effin’ Life, which was released last November by Harper Collins. The book was generously illustrated with never-before-seen photos while Lee discussed his childhood, history of Rush, intimate stories of his bandmates, Alex Lifeson and Neil Peart, and more.
