George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic plotting final tour

Final tour dates have yet to be announced

George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic are embarking on a final tour. The One Nation Under a Groove trek is being prepped to kick off sometime in 2019, capping over 50 years of touring and recording.

Joining P-Funk to send this icon of American pop culture off with a bang are Galactic, Dumpstaphunk, and Fishbone, all of whom are taking time out of their own busy schedules to hit the road with the Grammy-winning, formerly-rainbow-dreaded pioneer of funk, hip hop, and rock.

“It’s always been about the music and the band” says the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer. “That’s the real P-Funk legacy. They’ll still be funkin’ long after I stop,”

Dates have yet to be announced. A series of lineups to celebrate George Clinton’s final dates at the helm of the Mothership is also in the works.

While Clinton and Parliament may be retiring from the road, it doesn’t mean he’s going anywhere. The 68 year old frontman has several other projects in the hopper, including a salute to Motown and a solo album by longtime P-Funk All-Star siren Belita Woods. Clinton is also mindful that most of the folks whose songs he’s singing on radio friendly are no longer here, but he has no intention of joining them in Soul Heaven anytime soon. “I ain’t going nowhere,” he declares. “I feel like I’m starting over right now…for real!”
