George Jones’ funeral to be broadcast on multi-platforms

Multiple outlets will be livestreaming and broadcasting the event

If you can’t make George Jones’ funeral in Nashville on Thursday (May 2nd), you can still be in attendance from your own living room, car or office. It has been announced that country music channels, CMT and GAC, RFD and FamilyNet will televise the public offering while the audio will also be broadcast on WSM 650 AM and SiriusXM’s Willie Roadhouse Channel 56 at 10 am Central live from the Grand Ole Opry house in Nashville, TN. All four of Nashville’s local TV stations will also television the event.  Fans who can’t access any of these media stations can always listen live at or watch at

Former First Lady Laura Bush, Kenny Chesney, Barbara Mandrell, Grand Ole Opry’s Pete Fisher, Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam, Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee and CBS News Chief Washington Correspondent Bob Schieffer will all speak at the ceremony. Musical performances to include Charlie Daniels, Vince Gill with Patty Loveless, Alan Jackson, Ronnie Milsap, Kid Rock, the Oak Ridge Boys, Brad Paisley, Randy Travis, Travis Tritt, Tanya Tucker, and Wynonna.  Garth Brooks and Dierks Bentley will be in attendance, but not speaking or performing.
