The quintessential country music troubadour George Strait releases his brand new single, “Let It Go,” to country radio on Monday, April 20th. “Let It Go” is the first new music released by Strait since his No. 1-debuting 2013 album, Love Is Everything, and is the first new music since Strait returned to the studio following his historic, two-year The Cowboy Rides Away Tour.
Written by Strait, his son Bubba Strait and Keith Gattis, “Let It Go” is the laid-back lead single off Strait’s upcoming studio album on longtime label home, MCA Records Nashville. WYCD’s Tim Roberts calls the song “another pure country hit for radio and for real country fans.”
The “King of Country” is set to perform on Sunday, April 19th on the 50th Academy of Country Music Awards. Strait is the reigning ACM Entertainer of the Year, has won 21 ACM Awards over four consecutive decades and will be honored with an ACM 50th Anniversary Milestone Award on the show. The awards will be broadcast live on CBS at 8/7c.
