GRAMMYs announces 2022 date

Show will air on CBS

The Recording Academy and CBS have announced that the 64th Annual GRAMMY Awards will air on Monday, January 31, 2022 from the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The show will air live on CBS at 8 pm ET/5 pm PT and stream live and on-demand on Paramount+.

The GRAMMY Awards are the only peer-recognized accolade in music and are voted on by the Recording Academy’s voting membership body of music makers, who represent all genres and creative disciplines, including recording artists, songwriters, producers, mixers, and engineers.

Details about the GRAMMY nominations will be announced in the coming months.

This year’s event was held earlier this month after being postponed from January due to a spike in COVID-19 cases throughout Los Angeles. Beyonce, Taylor Swift and Billie Eilish were among the night’s top winners.

Deadline reports the ratings were the lowest ever for the GRAMMYs by snagging 7.9 million viewers with a 1.9 rating in the 18-49 demographic, in early results. The show fell 60% from 2020 that attracted 18.7 million viewers in its final numbers. Before last night, the 2006 show held the record for the lowest numbers with 17 million.
