CMA Music Fest and Bonnaroo are being held the same weekend in June

The Grand Ole Opry has announced plans to host a Thursday night show during CMA Music Fest. For the second straight year, the country music haven will open its doors for two shows with Blake Shelton on Thursday, June 7th with fellow Opry members the Oak Ridge Boys, Charley Pride, and Josh Turner as well as country music newcomers Luke Combs and Maggie Rose. Tickets for the night’s 7 pm and 9:30 pm shows are on sale at opry.com and 800-SEE-OPRY.

The CMA Fest week Thursday night Opry shows will follow two Tuesday shows that week featuring Opry members Carrie Underwood and Terri Clark as well as newcomer Ashley McBryde and more.

Other Opry performances scheduled for CMA Fest Week include Friday, June 8th and Saturday, June 9th as well as a Saturday matinee performance of Opry Country Classics featuring Larry Gatlin & the Gatlin Brothers, Pride, and more at the Ryman Auditorium.

Among others scheduled for the Opry before CMA Fest week include Trace Adkins, Bobby Bare, Crystal Gayle, Chris Janson, Craig Morgan, Rascal Flatts, Darius Rucker, and Brett Young. Tickets are available at 800-SEE-OPRY and opry.com.

The Grand Ole Opry has also announced its plans for a special Bonnaroo performance in nearby Manchester, TN on Sunday, June 10th. The two-hour concert will follow the Opry’s traditional format and will be broadcast live on WSM in Nashville, TN, according to The Tennessean.

The artist roster will include Opry members Bobby Bare, Del McCoury Band, Old Crow Medicine Show and Riders in the Sky along with Brothers Osborne, LANCO and Lucie Silvas, with more acts to be announced.

“It was important in putting [the show] together that we represented, as much as we could, a little bit of everything that happens on the Opry,” Opry General Manager Sally Williams tells the Nashville newspaper.

This is one of the few times the Opry has been held outside of its Nashville home during its 92 year history.

Before the two music festivals take place, the Grand Ole Opry will host a Salute the Troops show with parade and red carpet event on Tuesday, May 22nd. The public is invited to be a part of the honored families’ red carpet arrivals outside the Opry House beginning at 5:45 pm, and the evening’s Opry performances begin at 7 pm and 9:30 pm. Among the artists scheduled to perform are Trace Adkins, Lee Greenwood, Craig Morgan, Kellie Pickler, and Darius Rucker. Tickets for the evening’s first show are on sale now, and tickets for the second show will go on sale at 10 am Thursday, May 3rd.

The Opry, the Tennessee National Guard Family Programs organization, and the USO will invite men and women of the U.S. military as well as spouses, children, and parents of soldiers serving overseas to walk a red carpet into the Opry House for the evening’s shows saluting the troops and the families they leave at home to serve the United States.
