New track is available now

Acclaimed LA-based dance producer Gryffin returns with the euphoric new single “After You,” which focuses on the emotional aftermath of losing someone you love. The nostalgic track, released via Darkroom Records, is a collaboration with Jason Ross featuring vocals from rising Swedish singer-songwriter Calle Lehmann.

“’After You’ was written with Calle Lehmann, who I wrote ‘All You Need to Know’ with, and Jason Ross – a long time friend and production collaborator” says Gryffin on the creation of the new record. “The song came together over a Zoom session with Calle, and evolved into what it now is after a few sessions in LA with Jason Ross. I immediately gravitated towards the record because of the nostalgic feeling it gave me, and felt it was the perfect follow up record with Calle.”

“After You” begins with ethereal guitar — the soundtrack for Lehmann mourning the dreams he had before his heart was broken. Gryffin and Ross’ paced production matches the grieving process, building tempo before a booming dance-pop beat accompanies the vulnerable yet infectious chorus: “Nobody gets me like you do / I’m not the same, not after you.”

The dynamic duo of Gryffin and Lehmann first collaborated on tender single “All You Need to Know” with Slander in 2019, promising to always be there for someone. “After You” solidifies Gryffin’s range, both in scale and subject matter.

Gryffin will dive into emotional songs like these across the remainder of his 2021 live dates, which follow a successful Las Vegas residency at The Wynn’s Encore Beach Club and XS Nightclub.
