Guns N Roses cancels South American tour dates

COVID-19 restrictions forced the cancelation

Guns N Roses has canceled its South American 2020 tour due to COVID-19. The band shared the news late Friday (Sept 5th), stating local restrictions have forced the cancelation of the entire trek.

“The GNR South American 2020 tour dates have been canceled by the promoters of the shows due to the COVID-19 health mandates and restrictions established by all the various local and national authorities,” the band shares on social media.

“However, the safety and well-being of our fans, team and community remains our highest priority. These tour dates will not be rescheduled at this time due to the current impact of COVID-19 around the world.

“We appreciate your patience and understanding during these unprecedented times. We are working on putting together a new Latin/South American tour. Please hang in there for further details once dates are locked in.”

Local promoters will be issuing detailed plans on how to obtain refunds.

The trek was supposed to run through November and December with stops in Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Ecuador, Peru, Chile, Argentina, Brazil and Colombia.

The news follows the postponement of the North American trek and European run, which have both been pushed to next summer. Rescheduled European dates kick off June 2nd in Lisbon, Portugal and wrap June 30th in Munich, Germany. They return home to North American before starting July 10th at Milwaukee’s Summerfest and wrapping on August 19th in Los Angeles.
