First performance date in 2019

Guns N Roses is headlining the Louder Than Life Festival in Louisville, KY on Saturday, September 28th. This is the group’s first announced 2019 performance.

“There are only a handful of bands through the years whose music not only resonates with fans, but changes the entire face of rock ‘n’ roll,” Louder Than Life producer Danny Wimmer states in a press release. “Guns N’ Roses is one of those true icons. Every year we want to come back bigger and better, and we can’t wait to welcome Axl, Slash, Duff and the rest of GN’R to the Louder Than Life stage.”

The Louder Than Life Festival will be held September 27th-29th at Highland Festival Grounds at KY Expo Center in Louisville. More details about the 2019 edition will be revealed on Monday, April 8th, when tickets also go on sale. GNR’s Nightrain members can take advantage of a pre-sale that’s currently underway.

The band hasn’t performed live together since it wrapped the last leg of its Not In This Lifetime reunion tour in December 2018. The group is working on new music, according to bassist Duff McKagan, who’s releasing his much-anticipated solo album, Tenderness, on May 31st.

“I’ve heard some magnificent stuff that Axl has — really cool stuff he’s been working on,” McKagan tells Eddie Trunk on his SiriusXM radio show, Trunk Nation, last month. “So I’m excited about the possibilities with that, of course. I don’t mean to get anybody rabid. Our day will happen when it happens, that’s for sure.”

This would be the first new music with Axl Rose, Slash and McKagan since 1993’s cover album, The Spaghetti Incident.
