Gwen Stefani returning to ‘The Voice’ for season 19

NBC unveils lineup during fall schedule reveal

NBC has unveiled that Gwen Stefani will be returning to The Voice for season 19, replacing Nick Jonas. Stefani will join boyfriend and longtime Voice Coach Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson and John Legend for the fall 2020 cycle. Host Carson Daly returns as well.

The No Doubt singer last appeared on season 17, but previously coached seasons seven, nine and 12. She returned as a mentor in seasons eight and ten. She left the show for a Las Vegas residency, which has been postponed due to COVID-19.

Season 18 was interrupted by COVID-19 with production resuming remotely. Daly hosted from an empty soundstage on the Universal Studios lot — where the show usually airs live on the East Coast — with a skeleton crew, while the coaches and contestants filmed from their respective homes.

No word on how or when production will begin for season 19, but extra precautions are in place throughout Hollywood as productions begin to resume since shuttering in mid-March.

The Voice returns Mondays and Tuesdays this fall on NBC.
