HBO sets April 30th for 2016 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony

HBO has confirmed that the 2016 Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremony will make its debut on Saturday, April 30th at 8 pm ET/PT, exclusively on HBO. This year’s inductees include Cheap Trick, Chicago, Deep Purple, Steve Miller and N.W.A.; the Ahmet Ertegun Non-Performer Category inductee is Bert Berns.

The 31st Annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, presented by Klipsch Audio, will take place on Friday, April 8th at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York for the second time. Tickets are on sale now through Ticketmaster.

As usual with Rock Hall Induction Ceremony announcements, there’s been some drama surrounding at least one act being inducted. This year, it’s Chicago and its former frontman, Peter Cetera. Last month, after some back and forth between he and co-founder Robert Lamm, the singer announced that he had planned to join his former bandmates for a performance during the band’s induction ceremony. However, last week, the singer published the letter on his website, claiming he is finished trying to make the reunion happen after a disagreement with event organizers.

“Unfortunately, this scenario doesn’t work for me. I know we all did our best to make it happen, but I guess it’s just not meant to be,” he writes.

“Personally, I’m frustrated and tired of dealing with this and it’s time to move on. I have a life with two beautiful daughters and a solo career and its time to get back and give them all the full attention they deserve.

“Thanks for all your help and consideration! Have a great show and please send any individual award I receive to the contact you have for me.”

2016 Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremony is produced by Playtone and Line By Line Productions. Executive producers are Jann Wenner, Tom Hanks, Gary Goetzman and Joel Peresman; supervising producer is Frank Garritano; Barbra Dannov co-produces; Alex Coletti produces and directs.
