Group pushes three shows due to Johnny Depp injury

The Hollywood Vampires are rescheduling three US tour dates scheduled for this week. The rock supergroup featuring Alice Cooper, Aerosmith’s Joe Perry and Johnny Depp share the news today (Mon, May 29th), stating Depp is recovering from a recent ankle injury.

“We are sad to share that the Hollywood Vampires will be rescheduling our three US tour dates this coming week,” they write on social media. “Johnny has sustained a painful injury to his ankle following his recent appearances and has been advised by his doctor not to travel. He is devastated by this turn of events, but looks forward to resting up so all four Vampires can bring their absolute best to the tour in Europe.”

The group’s shows in Manchester, NH; Boston; and Bethel, NY originally scheduled for May 30, 31 and June 1, respectively, have been pushed to late July. The Boston show will be July 28, Manchester on July 29 and Bethel on July 30. All tickets will be honored for the new dates.

The dates were set to precede their long-delayed European summer tour which will see the group kick off June 8th in Romania and wrap July 23rd in Germany.

On June 2nd, the group will release Live in Rio as CD/DVD digipak, CD/Blu-ray digipak, limited and numbered 2 LP gatefold black vinyl. With the gig, The Hollywood Vampires probably played their biggest and most legendary gig in front of more than 100,000 fans. The accompanying music video shows the sheer magnitude of this concert and the reactions that this song still evokes in people — even 55 years after it was written. The project features “I Got A Line On You” originally performed by Spirit and Jimi Hendrix’s “Manic Depression.”
