White Buffalo is due Apr 7th via Warner Music Nashville
Three years after introducing his mountain-high voice and canyon-deep lyrics with his critically acclaimed debut, Coyote Cry, Wyoming native Ian Munsick has completed an 18-track ode to the American West. His sophomore album, White Buffalo, is due April 7th on Warner Music Nashville. Munsick shares production credits across the project with collaborators including Jared Conrad, Jeremy Spillman and more.
“A lot can happen in three years. In fact, I’ve had more change in my life in the last three years than the 26 years leading up to them,” Munsick shares. “I’ve become a father and a husband. I’ve become a better songwriter, entertainer and have finished working on my second album! Damn does it feel good to finally say that. White Buffalo will take you on a journey through the last three years of my life. Songs about love, loss, fatherhood, nostalgia, cowgirls and cow shit with, of course, plenty of fiddle. I could not be prouder of this record or more excited for you to hear it. It’s been three years in the making, but I promise you it’s been worth the wait.”
White Buffalo has already yielded the loping “Horses & Weed,” faith-driven love song “More Than Me” and standout duet “Long Live Cowgirls” with two-time CMA Award winner Cody Johnson. With more than 70 million global streams, “Long Live Cowgirls” has topped SiriusXM The Highway’s Hot 30 Countdown and spawned a 2023 tour of the same name. Munsick continues to welcome fans into the White Buffalo fold with the release of his newest track, “River Run.”
“Love and landscape… that’s what inspires me most as a songwriter, artist and producer,” Munsick says of the track he penned alongside Jeremy Spillman and Ryan Beaver. “Whenever I need inspiration, I just close my eyes and let the memory of the place I love most take me downstream. For this song, that place was the Tongue River. I remember fishing, swimming and rolling down the mountain cold waters in the heat of rodeo season… some of my fondest memories. I hope ‘River Run’ rolls you right back to wherever that place is for you.”
The noted entertainer and multi-instrumentalist will hit the road for his headlining Long Live Cowgirls 2023 Tour starting on January 20th with a sold out show at the legendary Gruene Hall. The trek features rising singer/songwriter Ashland Craft.
