Returns to nationwide touring later this year

Building on widespread anticipation from fans, GRAMMY nominated and multi-platinum selling Australian musician Iggy Azalea releases her third studio album The End of an Era. Released independently, Azalea’s album draws references to different parts of the female rapper’s musical career.

The album is a sonic journey, taking inspiration and different sounds from throughout Iggy’s varying musical projects and hits. The first portion of the album, a nod to “Trap Gold,” utilizes influence from her earliest days making mixtapes and playing with sound elements you typically do not hear in rap music, such as electronic. This leads into records with more pop-leaning hooks and vocals inspired by The New Classic era, followed by heavier hip hop elements and darker 808 drums, where Iggy revealed and proved her talent and depth within rap music. The three final tracks “Sex on the Beach” featuring Sophia Scott, “Good Times With Bad People” and “Day 3 In Miami (End of an Era) featuring Ellise, represent Iggy in the present – her interpretation of where she stands musically today.

“I really enjoyed this entire process. At the beginning of any and every project, I have a long period of reflection, so it was even more fun to unpack all my favorite music videos and songs in a more in-depth way,” Azalea says of the making of the album. The artist, now a mother and entrepreneur, looked back at the past with a new lens, “I asked myself why do I still like this song? What did it mean then and what does it mean today? It was also so cool to ask new producers who weren’t there when we made them, to look at those same songs and identify what they loved and even find out what they didn’t, even if it was still special to me. The process in itself was so reflective, yet also pushed boundaries to create better.”

The album art and corresponding creative also intentionally draw references to Hotel Iggy, the Miami-vice themed concept seen in previous years, now re-invented for the present. Azalea was hands-on throughout the entire conceptual process. She wrote the treatment for the “Iam The Strip Club” music video herself and co-directed the video with Thom Kerr, streaming now on YouTube.

Azalea has already received warm praise from press after releasing the “I Am The Strip Club” record from the label last month, with Uproxx declaring it a “dance-ready track [with] Azalea at her best, delivering boastful lyrics about her self-worth over a cutting-edge beat,” Hot New Hip Hop declared “The track is clearly poised for nightclubs around the globe” and The Music Universe called it “A shiny and exciting return to Azalea’s earlier electronic mixtape sound.”

In celebration of the release of The End of An Era, Azalea is returning to touring this month with Grammy-winning, independent international superstar, Pitbull. The I Feel Good Tour features 32 cities, kicking off August 20th at DTE Energy Music Theatre in Detroit. Stops on the routing include XFINITY Center in Mansfield, MA; Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in The Woodlands, Texas; Ball Arena in Denver; Save Mart Center in Fresno, CA; and Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. The last show is October 13th at MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Amphitheatre in Tampa, FL. Pitbull and Iggy Azalea will deliver the party of the summer, with a “set loaded with instantly recognizable smashes and surprises.”
