Iggy Azalea, Prince among musical guests for ‘SNL’ 40th season

Azalea performs October 25th; Prince performs November 1st

NBC’s late night sketch comedy series, Saturday Night Live, known best as SNL, is celebrating its 40th season with some big musical star power: Iggy Azalea and Prince.

Rapper Azalea will make her SNL musical guest debut on October 25th. Azalea’s smash debut album, The New Classic, will be re-released and titled Re-Classified on November 24th and will include six new songs. Jim Carrey will serve as host for the third time that night as he reprises his role as Lloyd Christmas in the upcoming Dumb And Dumber To, due in theaters November 14th.

Seven-time Grammy Award-winning music icon, Prince, will make his third appearance as musical guest on November 1st. Prince released two highly-prolific LP’s, ART OFFICIAL AGE and PLECTRUMELECTRUM on September 30th with his all girl band 3RDEYEGIRL. Both albums bowed in at number one on the Billboard R&B and Rock Chart, respectively.

Former SNL cast member Chris Rock returns to Studio 8H after 18 years to host the night. Rock directed, wrote and stars in the feature film Top Five, a comedy which will open in limited release on December 5th and wide release on December 12th.
