Puerto Rican singer, India, is the reigning queen of sales in Puerto Rico. Her album, Intensamente con Canciones de Juan Gabriel has positioned itself at #1 in sales on list of most sold Latin albums in the country, meanwhile the album also finds itself at #1 on the tropical charts in the US.
Her most recent musical production which, in a way, is a tribute to “El Divo de Juarez” is a compilation of 12 songs which highlight songs from Mexican singer, Juan Gabriel.
Her single, “Ahora que te vas”, off the album also reached #1 on Billboard’s Tropical chart. Thanks to this, she became the female singer with the most #1s on radio Tropical charts, surpassing Gloria Estefan.
Singer of such songs as, “Ese Hombre”, “Nunca voy a olvidarte”, and “Seduceme”, with a career spanning over 30 years she has positioned herself among the best in Tropical music. Also becoming known as “The Princess of Salsa,” India has won four Billboard Latin Music Awards, as well as been nominated for numerous Premios Lo Nuestro, Premios Juventud, and Latin Grammy awards. She has also gone on to create ballad versions of most of her songs, which has helped her reach a broader audience.
