Song is first release from forthcoming album

Three-time GRAMMY nominated singer-songwriter Ingrid Andress releases “Good Person,” a reflective and confessional song and the first from her forthcoming sophomore album. In addition to co-writing alongside Steph Jones and Sam Ellis, Andress co-produced the track with Ellis, who played the same role on her critically acclaimed debut, Lady Like.

“I wrote ‘Good Person’ when I realized that I was starting to question a lot of things,” Andress says. “What makes somebody good and what does that look like, and in a world of being so judgmental of other people, what makes you better than them?” Andress continues, “With the video, I really wanted to mesh these worlds of light and dark and highlight the parallels between the two. Stay tuned fam. This is just the beginning.”

Emerging from a period of self growth, “Good Person” details Andress’ emotional journey and real life exploration of how to define “goodness” in ourselves and others. In the official music video directed by Olivia Bee, flashes of a gritty hotel room give way to moments of ethereal lightness, signaling the ever constant inner battle of wanting to be a good person while acknowledging we are all a continuous work in progress.

This track sees Andress entering the next chapter of her career following the record-breaking debut, Lady Like. The celebrated LP scored Andress three GRAMMY nominations including Best New Artist, Best Country Album, Best Country Song for the multi-platinum No. 1 radio single “More Hearts Than Mine.” Andress is also a 4x ACM Award, 3x CMA Award and 2x CMT Music Award nominee.

Last August, Andress released “Wishful Drinking” featuring Sam Hunt, which has been climbing the country radio charts. The fan-favorite track has proved to be a streaming success garnering over 100 million global streams to date, debuting at No. 8 on Spotify’s all-genre Top 10 USA Song Debuts Chart and remaining within the Top 20 on their Hot Country chart since its release. With nearly 850 million global streams, Andress will join Keith Urban for his 52 date North American The Speed of Now World Tour starting in June.
