The companies deliver the Top 5 albums on the Billboard 200 for two consecutive weeks
For two consecutive weeks, Island, Mercury, and Republic Records have made history. The three labels aligned with the Republic Corps team to deliver the Top 5 albums on the Billboard 200 with Sabrina Carpenter’s Short N’ Sweet at No. 1, Post Malone’s F-1 Trillion at No. 2, Chappell Roan’s The Rise And Fall Of A Midwest Princess at No. 3, Morgan Wallen’s One Thing At A Time (in partnership with Big Loud), at No. 4 and Taylor Swift’s The Tortured Poets Department at No. 5.
In addition to claiming the Top 5, the labels have also secured seven of the Top 10 albums. Island Records is enjoying its most successful run in years as Sabrina Carpenter holds the top spot on the Billboard 200 for three consecutive weeks, while Mercury Records boasts four albums in the Top 10. This is in addition to Taylor Swift remaining a fixture in the Top 10 every week since the release of her groundbreaking album The Tortured Poets Department in April 2024.
In addition, Island Records, Mercury Records, Republic Records, and Def Jam Recordings celebrated an incredible night at the VMA’s with 12 wins and performances by Anitta, Chappell Roan, DJ Khaled, Jelly Roll, LL Cool J, Sabrina Carpenter and Shawn Mendes. Swift led the night by taking home seven Moon Man trophies of the ten she was nominated. Malone, who was featured in Swift’s “Fortnite,” placed second with five trophies for the song while Anitta, Grande, Roan, and Carpenter each took home one apiece.
