Project due Nov 30th

Critically acclaimed K-pop superstars Itzy has announced their new mini album, Chesire, which will be available via all digital and streaming platforms on Wednesday, November 30th. Further album details are forthcoming.

The announcement comes in the midst of the international stars’ first world tour, the Checkmate Tour, which kicked off in the United States on Wednesday, October 26th with a sold out performance at Los Angeles’ YouTube Theater. Tonight (Mon, Nov 7th), the group will play Chicago’s Rosemont Theatre, followed by a show at Boston’s MGM Music Fall at Fenway on Thursday, November 10th before closing out the tour at New York’s Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden on Sunday, November 13th. Last month, the group also released their first English single, “Boys Like You,” whose accompanying music video has surpassed 11 million views and continues to chart of YouTube’s Global Top 100 Music Videos.

In July, the group returned with their highly anticipated fifth mini album, Checkmate, which took the No. 8 spot on the Billboard 200 chart upon release, marking the group’s first top 10 ranking on the chart. Further, the group became the fourth K-pop girl group to achieve a top 10 ranking on the Billboard 200. Quickly following this achievement, it was announced that the group was nominated for their first MTV VMA in the category of Best K-Pop for their “Loco” music video.

Checkmate follows a momentous 2021 for Itzy, as the group broke numerous personal records on both the charts and with streams and helped solidify Itzy as one of K-pop’s dominating forces thus far. In January 2021, the group made their first national US broadcast appearance on MTV’s Fresh Out Live, racking in the largest performance views MTV had received for the platform. They followed this up with their spring EP, Guess Who, which marked the group’s debut on Billboard’s Top 200 album chart, peaking at No. 148. In September 2021, the group released their first full-length studio album, Crazy In Love, which took the No. 1 spot across multiple Billboard charts upon debut, including Top Album Sales, Top Current Album Sales, World Albums, Tastemaker Albums, and Independent Albums charts. The release also made a strong debut on Billboard’s Top 200 album chart where it reached No. 11, making Itzy only the third female K-pop group that scored within the chart’s top 15.
