Global superstar will headline shows in Sydney & Melbourne

Colombian superstar J Balvin will head Down Under this summer for three shows in Australia. The barrier-busting Balvin will perform two huge headline shows while in Australia — Melbourne’s Margaret Court Arena on Sunday, July 23rd, followed by Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion on Tuesday, July 25th. Balvin will jumpstart his Australian visit with a set at Byron’s Splendour in the Grass on Friday, July 21st.

Tickets for both cities go on sale Monday, May 8th at 10 am local time. Presales start Thursday, May 4th at noon local time.

A highly decorated global superstar and entrepreneur with wins across Billboard Music Awards, American Music Awards, Latin Grammys and many others, as a Latin artist Balvin has steadfastly broken cultural barriers and become one of the Top 10 most-streamed artists globally, developing legions of fans worldwide. Originally hailing from Medellín, Colombia, the illustrious reggaeton superstar is one of the best-selling Latin musical artists with sales of more than 35 million records. Balvin’s 2017 chart-topper ‘Mi Gente’ with Willy William, and subsequently a remix with Beyoncé, reached global success serving as a nod to cultural pride.

Noted for his phenomenal, high energy live concerts, the boundary-pushing Balvin made history back in 2019 as the very first Latin headliner in Lollapalooza’s 28-year history. He did similar at Coachella, returning to the desert event (following Beyoncé inviting him up onstage the previous year) for a performance heralded by Billboard as “the most high-profile set from a reggaeton artist in the festival’s history”.

J Balvin’s list of collaborators reads like a who’s who of music giants: Justin Bieber, Dua Lipa, Cardi B, Ed Sheeran, Skrillex, Pharrell… while in 2020 he was the first Latinx artist to team up with the iconic Air Jordan brand. (He’s also got his own Monopoly game and a Guess campaign to boot). The Colombian superstar and reggaeton revolutionary is an unstoppable force across the worlds of music, fashion and art, Balvin also leading initiatives for mental health awareness, the star launching OYE, a bilingual, mental health and creative wellness app in both Spanish and English.
